HOW WE WORK — THE CHECK POINTS
- ELevels checked against the civil grid before bedding
- EDrainage connectivity confirmed before paving closes
- EA paving mock-up approved for pattern, joint width and shade before bulk lay
- ENatural stone checked for batch shade variation before full lay
- EFalls verified with spot levels across large areas, not assumed from drawings
- ESnagging before handover: joint uniformity, trip edges at transitions, drainage tested in actual rain where possible
WHAT WE WATCH FOR ON SITES HERE
Monsoon drainage
Ponding from incorrect falls shows up in the first heavy rain, not at handover. Falls are verified, not assumed.
Organic growth in joints
High humidity means moss and algae. The jointing specification and drainage design decide whether the client is scrubbing paving every year.
Soil movement and heave
Poorly compacted bases lift. Compaction is to specified layers, tested where the contract requires it.
Coastal salt exposure
Near the sea, fixings, fittings and some stone finishes have to be specified for it.
Trip edges where paving meets planting.
The most common snag on a finished site, and the easiest to design out.
Traffic before curing.
Sequencing agreed with the main contractor, not left to optimism.
